Owais Mushtaq is a 20 years old artist from Qazigund Anantnag

From the childhood Owais Mushtaq was fascinated of drawing. He used to draw lines and figures all the time till he grew up and pages of his notebook were full of diagrams and splashed with colours instead of school work.

As he grew up, the passion towards the drawing dropped off and was focused towards academics.

After years of not practicing drawings, it was his 10th class when he was selected for a painting competition at district level

Unfortunately he wasn’t able to secure any position there. And finally, he in his 12th class participated in a painting competition which was at zonal level, there he secured Ist position for his School

While speaking to AUYK Blogs, he said "Honestly I never wish to be a winner or to move ahead in this field. Whenever I draw or paint something I only do that for the peace of my mind and to get myself out of the stress and anxiety .Drawing lines pleases my soul"

As drawing was in his nerves or we can say this art was inherited but it was this lockdown where in search of peace of mind Owais Mushtaq, practiced and improved his artwork in comparison to the rest of years where he used to draw once in a year.

In future i will practice more and will work on some other kinds of art

And recently he have started customised art and decided to donate 60 % of customised art charges to a youth committee which aims to aid some needy people
