Safiya Masood: A girl who preferred ART as an academic study
Safiya Masood : Painting is a visual art of expressing thoughts, emotions and gives me a bunch of colours to play with where life isn't merely bound to black and white. For Safiya, painting is the language through which she can express herself. She loves to look at art, painting and almost feel like the experience isn't complete until she has something of her own.
Safiya Masood, a student of the class 12th from Dawar, Gurez J&K. She is one of the first artists from the Gurez Valley, a place that is full of beauty and fragrance of its sort and a place that is explored.
She develops a major interest in visual arts. When she was in 5th class she got many positions in the competition organized locally.
Safiya Masood started sketching and painting at an early age. For her, art is not a talent, It is an experience.
"I don't paint my dreams or nightmares, I paint my reality. I sketch a passion. I have clear in my mind about my passion to be in fine art. I started sketching daily and never overlooked failure in life. I am passionate about my work sketching from memory and imagination. "
The first writing of human beings is drawing, not writing. Safiya sometimes thinks that there is nothing delightful as drawing.
She also got 2nd position in Sketch Making Competition which was organised by JKSC and got the Best Sketch Award in that competition.
In another painting competition, She got 1st position which was organised in District Bandiera and recently she got 2nd position in painting competition which is organised by Kashmir convener.
While speaking to AUYK blogs she said "I wasn't familiar enough before to take painting as an academic study but when I started publishing my content over social media, I received very positive responses and appreciation from the other artists that encouraged me"
Her cousin always encouraged Safiya and guided her to go for BFA painting and even convinced her family to take the higher studies in this field.
