“I’m Ridah Nissar, a calligraphy artist from the enchanting city of Srinagar. My journey into the world of calligraphy has been deeply rooted in my faith and passion. The Holy Qur'an serves as my primary inspiration, and through my art, I strive to present its verses in a way that resonates with beauty and spirituality,” she said, her words reflecting the deep connection she has with her craft.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Ridah Nissar is also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the prestigious SKUAST-K (Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology). Juggling the demands of academia and art, she describes her journey as “challenging albeit rewarding,” a path that has helped her grow both professionally and as an artist.
Over the years, Ridah’s work has graced exhibitions, fairs, and events across the Kashmir Valley, earning her accolades and recognition in competitions organized by various institutions. In addition to exhibitions, Ridah creates customized calligraphy frames for clients, infusing personal touches into every piece she designs.
