Sundus Rashid : Girl from Baramulla breaking the barriers with her writings

"I wrote my first poem on my motherland, kashmir ,under the title" Kashmir In Crisis" as this was the situation I witnessed since my birth. I even lost my father before my birth due to these situations in Kashmir and I know the struggle, the sufferings, the tears of my mother that she went through when she was a 4 months bride "

"How she raised me up, How she never let me feel the absence of my father but there were still some moments in life where I felt his absence, well after writing my first poem it just felt as if i had kept myself pen and paper away" said Sundus Rashid to AUYK Blogs

She mostly wrote poems related to current situation or anything happening around her and how as a girl she feel and how she take things , actually about a lot of things which were just prisoned in mind, difficult to talk about but easier to pen down and now she is going to publish her book titled as Behind Her Smile

It is a collection of poems that are based on the things , a person goes through but still pretends to be ok. She wrote the poems that are based on my real life experience or whatever she have witnessed as mentioned above.

Most of people can relate these poems as whatever she witnessed or experienced is common nowadays like the condition of Kashmir, depression , drug addiction , child abuse, a life of a girl or teen age stuff is not only witnessed or experienced by her but every one .

"Now I choose it as "her smile" because I'm myself a girl and the collection of my poems are written as words of a particular girl and as it is said a person can hide million of things behind a beautiful smile and most of the people of this generation is going through the same so I named it as Behind Her Smile" said Sundus.

Currently she is a co author of 5+ anthologies and compiler for 3 anthologies besides that she is into sketch making and craft work.

1. LIFE GOES ON

Life has never always been easy
But it's always beautiful and breezy

Life is an apportunity never given again
Full of difficulties happiness and pain

Challanges are what makes life pitiful
Overcoming them makes life meaningful

We must know ,we should never stop learning
Because life is what never stops teaching
Remember we are born just to fly
Up above the clouds in the sky

But we can't do anything by standing still
All we need is power and will

Come over everything that bothers
Ans make life an inspiration for others
Stars and many but remember the sun
Lighting the world it's only one !

So collect all the memories and enjoy the life
Than getting trapped in past or any strife

For your success learn not to expect
As expectations always hurt & lead to regret
People may change ,things may go wrong
But all u have to remember is "LIFE GOES ON"

2.LET ME LIVE FREELY

This is right and this is wrong
And this is the place where you belong

Here you can go but from here you should hide
Wait ! why for us should someone eles decide?

You know ?I’m proud to be a girl
Then Why don't you Let me be like a pearl
Why can't we leave our homes at night
Why can't we feel safe outside

Why do you say that I’ll never make it
Can't you let me try a bit ?
I want the answers to all my 'whys'
I want an answer , will you let me rise ?

Will someone ever understand here
That men and women stand equal there

Let me not lose my dream,
Let them call me that one cream

Don’t destroy that spark in my eyes
Don't let here , my strength demise
I want to grow as a woman, fearless & bold
For someone else , my talents I don't want to fold

I believe One day This world ,will be safe for me
And this world of my thoughts will be a key
Key to my success which will come to me slowly
One day I hope this world will ..."let me live freely"
