Umar Bhat : An aspiring Social Activist from Kashmir - Inspiring others
Umar Bhat, a 28 year old, social activist belonging to a business family, Umar Bhat of Srinagar district of Jammu Kashmir had a dream of becoming a successful business man and continue his legacy but found a new life within unanswered questions of the society.
Umar decided to become a social activist so that he could help the poor people who because of some circumstances lead a bad life. Due to his new aim, helping needy, he had to leave his childhood dreams behind.
Despite the industrial and economic development in recent years, poverty still remains a constant impediment to the real growth of India. Umar was moved by the conditions of people who had no bread earner and thus he decided to dedicate his life for poor.
With the full support from his family, especially his maternal uncle, Umar saw a ray of hope in building his aim.
Cash transfers are not merely a way to help poor families climb out of poverty; rather, they help them to stabilize their status in the society and feel comfortable in living as inhabitant. Umar has till date fed thousands of poor families.
During the testing times of Covid-19 lockdown, Umar has come up with his goodies to distribute among people. There were thousands of families who got free ration from Umar.
Many children have received free books from Umar and his team and are currently working to enhance the future of many other children in upcoming time.
Umar has also worked for the betterment of youth who are addicted to drugs. Umar's motive is not only to feed poor but also eradicate socials evils. Getting about 100 addicts successfully out of rehabilitation centres, feeding needy and giving books to children, Umar Bhat and his team have proved to work for every age and every cause in society
